About the initiative

The Regreening Gana Street Initiative is an FCTA-supported project by 309 Green Earth Foundation to restore the environmental quality of Gana Street, Maitama, as it changes from a residential district into a busy mixed-use corridor. It has two components:

  • Sustainable Waste Management: improving refuse collection and disposal, clearing the blocked drainage that contributes to flash flooding, and supporting public enlightenment.
  • Tree Planting & Landscaping: restoring the tree canopy, improving air quality, and making the street more liveable.

Delivered with government, businesses and residents, it is designed as a model that other communities can replicate.

What we want to achieve

Five goals guide the work on Gana Street.

Restore tree canopy
